Passion in the Market Place

It has been said by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, “Passion is one great force that unleashes creativity, because if you’re passionate about something, then you’re more willing to take risks.” I don’t believe anyone could have said it better. Without passion everything would seem bleak, I know that I don’t take risks when I don’t feel fired up about a cause. Here is what I have learned in my short time with Michigan Creative!

 

Creativity: The ability to come up with ideas off of the top of your head, is key in marketing! Sometimes it takes a few no’s, as well as failures to achieve proper success. Luckily in a creative environment, you’re able to use those abilities to your advantage. If one way isn’t working,  you can always find another way. Often times the best idea isn’t your first idea either, it’s going back and forth and moving forward. Favorably marketing allows for a trial and error technique, there is never one answer fits all or every solution. I believe that is so awesome because it’s real life, there is never one way. Marketing is a continuous field and it does give its people a chance to make adjustments through  use of creativity! Ah brain power!

 

Passion: Passion is major! I’ve definitely come to realize how true that statement is. If you can’t fully get behind a cause that riles you up, maybe it’s not the right fit for you. I grow completely restless and unenthused when I don’t feel the energy (that is passion) running through my veins. To be successful one has to be able to cultivate passion naturally, that’s when businesses and people grow the most!

 

Setting/Keeping Goals: I know this can be rather challenging, I’ve set tons of goals and only follow through with a few. I have come to learn the importance of setting a few realistic goals and  reaching them. It’s not always an easy task to do, but if it’s worth it we will make it work! In the world of marketing there are many goals set and reached, as well as not reached. In order to maintain these goals and accomplishments, we all have to be realistic.  “Rome was not built in a day”  might be a sufficient slogan, when it comes to marketing. Marketing is constantly evolving and changing, I believe it’s crucial to set realistic goals and schedules to accomplish each task as it comes at you.

 

As I wrap up this discussion I might add a lasting cliché, which is to never give up! Sometimes challenges await us, especially in marketing. If we can keep going, with our goals in mind, wonderful possibilities will arise!
