Connecting Your Brand During Uncertain Times

In Marketing by Alicia Frank

Brands can learn a lot by staying engaged and connected with their customers. With social media, digital marketing, and endless other platforms, it’s easier than ever for businesses to do, and consumers almost expect that personalized touch. Every brand should make it a point to connect with their audience. And, it’s no question that now more than ever our society needs to connect and communicate with one another. This concept goes for business owners too. Even before the recent turn of events, people took to social media and digital platforms to connect with others. They also take to the same platforms to connect with companies they want to spend their money with.

When the pandemic hit, many business owners were forced to shut their physical doors and conduct business from home (if they could). It can be difficult to connect with others without being able to physically interact with them. So, how do you connect your brand right now when it’s more important than ever? With the amount of digital help we have in 2020, there are some fairly easy things you can do as a business owner to confidently connect your brand to your ideal audience, assuming you know who that is.

Social media

Social media is the easiest way to create a connection between your brand and audience. It allows you to put your story out there in a way that is raw and authentic. People love to see your staff, to put a face to a name, and get to know your company and all that it has to offer. Social is the number one platform for brands to connect with their ideal customers. The opportunities are somewhat endless with social media.

Video

Video allows you to control how your audience portrays your business and how they feel about it. It allows you to create an emotion with your audience. With video, you tell a story. And, paired with the right messaging, it can reach a broader audience than anticipated. Another great thing about video is it also has the capabilities to be used on multiple platforms.

Advertising

When you know your ideal audience or buyer personas, advertising is a game-changer in reaching and connecting with them. Facebook, Google ads, and other digital platforms allow you to directly reach that target market. You just have to be sure to tailor personalized content to that target audience to still connect with them. It’s no secret that advertising creates brand awareness and adds value to your company.

Video conferencing

Most companies are utilizing some form of video conferencing internally right now. But, you can also take this external with seminars, conferences, some have even gone as far as to do a virtual cocktail hour and open that up to clients/customers. Think of it as virtual networking, which is always a good thing for your brand, when done properly. You’ll want to make sure you use an established platform like Zoom or Google Hangouts.

Email

Never underestimate the value of email marketing. Email marketing allows you to reach out directly to your customers with a personalized message tailored specifically to them. It gives you the ability to personally connect and establish a relationship with your customers and to show them you value them. Email is personal, convenient, and instant. It allows you to send personalized offers, news, updates, exclusive peeks, and product information.

Every one of these tactics adds value and gives you the opportunity to connect your brand with your audience.
